The synagogue in the guesthouse ... it used to be the kitchen and living room when we were there!
The front porch.
We went to the Golan today to pick fruit with our friends, and had a great time.
We took a lot of pictures here. I love the Golan!
This is the Jordanian border fence.
This is where we started really climbing the Golan.
Look at all the green!
As we were driving along the road, we saw a lot of IDF tanks lined up. They must have been getting ready for practice.
We turned around and went back so that Tommy could get some pictures.
They use these things to deactivate landmines. There are mines all over the Golan.
This is an abandoned Syrian tank. When we were here as a family, we came here and took a picture of all of us children sitting on the barrel. It has been moved, and the barrel is now pointing in the opposite direction.
Tommy and me with Joseph (the son of the people we are staying with).
This is the bottom part of the bunker near the tank. We explored this when we were here several years ago ... we entered the bunker at the top of the hill, and came out through these openings at the bottom. Now they are all blocked up.
This is the top of the bunker.
A memorial for something ... I'm not sure what :)
Beehives.
This was at the farm where we picked the fruit.
Delicious cherries!
Picking mulberries
I think this is a rocket launcher of some sort.
This is the Hula Valley, in the northern central part of Israel. The Hula Valley was one of the first places that Jewish immigrants came to in the 1800's. Many died from the malaria in the swamps.
I like the trees here :)
I believe this is the Jordan ... before it enters the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee).
Tommy was worn out when we got home :)
That is all for now! It's late here, and I'm so tired! I keep going to bed late and getting up early :) I may not have put enough explanations with the pictures ... if anyone has any questions about anything, please feel free to ask.
Hers's my question. Who in the world gave you permission to take and post that picture of me? Just wait little sister, I'll get you for that :)
ReplyDeleteOK Tommy, just wait... if you do a thing to my dear sister Hannah... you will wish you had not:) Remember, we have your truck (pink paint would look good), lawn mower, dogs, and a litter of puppies, and your bedroom... along with that we have 3 weeks to plan. So, watch out what you do. ~Sarah
ReplyDeleteP.S. We also have the choice to come pick you up from the airport or not.
Thankee Sarah. I was sure you would stand up for me. You may have to carry out that threat ... Tommy was trying to push me into the Jordan today, even after I told him not to :)
ReplyDeleteOh my... he is a bad boy. I guess I need to start smudging pink paint on his truck... that would be fun:):):) ~S.
