Shabbat Shalom Everyone!
This year for Sukkot (Tabernacles) we went out to Fall Creek Falls State Park and camped there with several other families.
We had a great time ... our days were filled with many activities such as, Torah reading in the morning and evenings, singing, dancing, swimming, biking, boating, hiking, card games and other games, sports/ball games, hay rides, shared meals, lots of free time to just fellowship, Mikvah, and many more things!
Thank you to the "core families" for everything y'all did, and thank you to the visitors ... we all greatly enjoyed meeting and spending time with you guys.
People say that a picture is worth a thousand words ... so lets see how that works :) And just to let you all know ... as you will be able to tell ... there is a difference in quality/skill etc., in these pictures. This is because these pictures were taken on different cameras, by different people - including some small children, and people like me, who are not the best photographers! I hope you enjoy them anyways.
Also, as I mentioned above, these pictures were taken by different cameras etc., so it is hard know which pictures were taken on which days, so I decided that instead of posting pictures and videos by each day, I am going to post them in categories. Here ya' go!
Setting Up:
Our family went a night early to set up before others got there, the next day.
Lydia was checking out our kitchen! Our wonderful neighbors let us borrow their trailer and the men in our family made a nice indoor out door kitchen - close up pictures below.
It still looks a bit messy because it was not totally organized yet.
And yes, that is a refrigerator in the back corner.
And the "kitchen sink" :)
Samuel got his own tent this time ... he was really happy!
Master chef :)
Clinton built a teepee tent ... this was the beginning of it.
Tommy and Mr. Jeff working on hanging tarps. We had a little rain, but it was not bad at all.
Group Gathering:
Lydia lighting the candles for E'rev Shabbat.
Yes, the 6-way caught on fire! It was old and it was being used A LOT.
I loved the different dynamics in this picture!
Torah reading!
There was another group camping for Sukkot near us, so one day our group took a walk to meet new folks.
"Again YHWH spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of YHWH and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and eyes are inclined, and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your El. I am YHWH your El, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your El: I am YHWH your El."
Numbers 15:37-41
Until next time, Shalom!
Thank you for posting the photos, Sarah! Sukkot was such an wonderful time, it's great to relive the memories again!
